Our Scottish Borders Photography Challenge

We are investing in a new online image bank to support the development of the Our Scottish Borders brand (the regional identity for the Scottish Borders) and would like to invite photographers to submit images to be considered for purchase and inclusion in it.

In summary:

·         We are aiming to build a bank of images covering a number of themes (about 2 or 3 images per theme, dependent on costs).  These images will be downloadable from the www.ourscottishborders.com web site and may be widely used for a variety of promotional purposes. 

·         Photographers can submit images from their existing portfolio for as few or as many of the themes as they wish for our consideration. 

·         We are not necessarily commissioning new photography, but if photographers wish to take and submit new photography for our consideration on a no obligation basis, we will obviously be happy to consider these images too.

·         Images should be full quality non interpolated 8bit TIFF files with a file size of at least 25MB.

·         Our guideline price band is £150-£250 per image.  This is a competitive exercise and value for money will be one of the selection criteria.

·         We require full copyright to be assigned for all of the images purchased.

·         The deadline for submission (in print only at this stage) of images for consideration is Wednesday 20 February 2008.

Credits will be given for each photographer whose work is used on the www.ourscottishborders.com web site.  We will include a note with these photographers‘ contact details (including any web site link) so that any individuals, businesses and organisations can contact them if they wish to commission photography (in addition to those which they will be able to download from the web site free of charge).

The www.ourscottishborders.com web site will be re-launched, with the new image bank, late March 2008.  The re-launch will be widely promoted, so that the web site becomes the main online portal to a wide variety of information about the Scottish Borders.  There will therefore be promotional benefits for all photographers whose work is included in the image bank.
