Scottish Borders Community Plan 2006-2016
Download the Community Plan 2006-2016: Our Scottish Borders, a vision for the future
After wide consultation from November 2005 to March 2006, I am delighted to present this Community Plan, detailing a vision for the Scottish Borders 2006-2016. A wide range of groups and individuals were involved in the consultation that has led to this plan. We believe it reflects accurately the priorities that were identified.
Community Planning brings together public sector agencies, as well as the private, voluntary and community sectors in the Borders in order that services, where possible, are integrated and joint initiatives are undertaken which benefit the Borders as a whole. Our Community Planning Partnership in the Borders operates under the banner “New Ways”, and community planning has forced us to do exactly that- develop “new ways” of working, to respond more effectively and efficiently to the challenges we face as part of a complex global economy, and to respond to changing customer needs.
Community Planning should also ensure that a broad range of stakeholders influence and help shape the work undertaken in partnership- are you involved? Is a group you belong to involved? Would you like to be involved? We hope that you will take the time look at the document, and to comment by post, electronically, or by telephone.
You can get a hard copy of this document or a copy on tape, in Braille, in large print and various computer formats by contacting Sarah Glendinning, New Ways Co-ordinator (Tel: 01835 826542, sglendinning@scotborders.gov.uk) . She can also give information on other language translations, as well as providing additional copies. Sarah would also be happy to arrange a meeting to discuss the plan further.
